BOOST_MESSAGE has been obsolete since boost 1.34 (2007). So after 10 years, we
can finally get rid of it...

This also enabled test_cleanup, test_nonstandard and test_aligntoseqres which
were previously skipped with 'make check' indep. of compound lib availability
(simply because unittests are launched with 'python' and not with 'ost').

this pops up as warning when compiling with a super new gcc (6.2)

Up to 20 string comparisons had to be performed in the previous implementation.
This number has been reduced by using a switch statement on the first letter
of the residue name.
